Busy week

January 25, 2009

I’ll be delivering a talk about leadership again for my beloved org in college tomorrow.  It’s election time and I guess everybody needs a boost to have the courage to run.  Well, I hope I get to inspire atleast some.  I’m still fixing my presentation.  Hopefully I get to deliver it well.

Then for Tuesday-Thursday, I was invited to judge some science project defenses.  One of my closest friends needs help in their science week and since I’m available, it’s my pleasure to help out.

It’s great that all these opportunities are presented to me.  Taking part in all these falls into my life plan - which is to make a difference in other people’s lives.

job postings

January 20, 2009
It’s sad to hear about lay-offs being made by companies who are cutting down on costs already because of the recession. Well, it is quite a challenge looking for jobs these days but there are sites online which can help you find jobs. If you are looking for finance jobs, try checking out financialjobbank.com. They have a list of numerous job vacancies that you can try out applying for.

the hard way

January 18, 2009

I had a couple of slips from fitness plan lately. Well, there were a couple of birthday parties and it wasn’t an easy task saying no some yummy treats. Hopefully I’ll be more disciplined at the next parties to come. It’s sometimes tempting to just take Ephedrasil hardcore to help me lose weight, but I still want to do this the hard (but natural way) – healthy balanced meals plus exercise. I know I can do this. I just really need a lot of discipline. Getting support from friends and family are highly appreciated.

dog supplies

January 17, 2009
Our dog Sammie, is really one spoiled dog. She’s like the baby in the family. Everybody baby talks her. It’s really funny listening to my mom or dad talk to our dog. Oh well. We all love our Sammie! I was just at the mall looking for some dog supplies for her. I’m planning to buy her one of those beds for dogs and probably some toys. She loves those bone treats, but we really don’t give her real bones since we’ve heard lots of horror stories when dogs would have internal bleeding because of pointed bones getting ingested.

so much back log

January 9, 2009

I just noticed that I haven’t actually blogged much about how I spent the holiday season.  Well, there was just too many parties to go to.  Almost everyday we had visitors at home to entertain - my brother’s high school friends, my high school friends, my college friends, my mom’s co-teachers, my mom’s high school friends (yep, they still keep in touch!), our relatives, etc.

Hopefully I can upload all the pictures.  It’s nicer to post entries with pictures that go with them.

traveler

January 7, 2009

“Tourists leave home to escape the world, while travelers leave home to experience the world. Tourists… are merely doing the hokey-pokey: putting their right foot in and taking their right foot out; calling themselves world travellers but experiencing very little.” - Rolf Potts

I wonder where I will be traveling this year… Would my budget even permits it? For the longest time, I have been planning to go to dumaguete.  I don’t know why, but there’s a certain force pulling me to visit the place.  I hope I get to go this year…

longer vacation

I bet a lot of people were late last Monday! I can’t blame them! I know a lot still have the holiday hangover. It would really be hard to get up early in the morning when you have gotten used to sleeping without an alarm clock to dictate what time you need to wake up. I’m sure a lot are still dreaming of a longer vacation, probably to take one of those Vegas vacations.
