Kamay Kainan
July 16, 2007I just love buffets not because I want to eat in volume but because I enjoy the variety of what I can taste. My taste buds just don't like monotony.
Besides Paseo Uno, we also usually frequent Kamay Kainan, which is actually a cheaper choice since it only costs Php244 per person. They serve mostly Filipino dishes. So in case you have balikbayan relatives or friends, this is a great place to bring them so that they can reacquaint themselves with our native dishes. It saves a lot of hassle, rather than prepare those dishes yourself. By the way, don't forget to request for their sizzling sisig. They don't usually serve it unless ordered.
Anyway, here are some photos from our visit last week.
sisig
baked tahong
alimango
binagoongan
papaitan
bbq
laing
menudo
kuhol
sinigang
Our last visit was a little disappointing though. Their calamares were a bit rubbery. They ran out of siomai! (which is one of my favorites) And worse, they didn't have dirty ice cream that day. It's supposed to be part of the buffet also. Oh well, with bloated stomachs, we just capped off the night with their coffee, straight from their dispenser. It's also part of the buffet, but I think you have to pay extra if you want cream with it.

Posted by jengkie at July 19, 2007, 10:01 pmhello jengkie! remember me from the food writing workshop with christine nunag? may isasangguni sana ako sa yo, being the events professional. my sister in law is having her debut, and because of the prices, we decided to have it at kamay kainan. it’s a little informal, i know but we all love to eat there. any suggestions on how we can make it special despite being on a shoe-string budget? pwede ba magka-gift registry ang debutante lang? your advice will be highly valued and appreciated.

Just felt my tummy rumble. But it’s past midnight so I might as well ignore my hunger til’ tom.
