coin dealer

October 20, 2009

I have in my possession an old peso bill with the American flag and Liberty printed on it. It was my grandfather’s and I chanced upon it while I was going through some old stuff at home. I know a bit of our country’s history and I presume it’s more than 60 years old. I’m not sure how it’s worth but I’m positive it’s worth much more than its face value. Old bills and coins are the fascination of a coin dealer. And why not? Coin dealers feel a sense of appreciation for the rich history and culture for one’s country whenever coming into contact with these precious metals and bills. You can also earn big bucks being one.

going to disney

September 28, 2009

My sweetie and I are thinking where to spend our honeymoon. It would be nice if we could take a vacation outside of the country. We’re initially thinking of going to Hong Kong. My sweetie hasn’t been to any Disneyland. It would be nice to get those Disney Tickets and spend a day with my sweetie in one of the happiest places in the world. Well, we’re still unsure if our budget would permit a honeymoon outside of the country. We still haven’t finalized our plans yet. We’re just really crossing our fingers that there would be a lot of monetary gifts during the wedding to ease out a bit our financial needs as a starting newly wed couple.

rainy days

September 27, 2009

It seems that every time it rains so hard, people can’t help but be a little worried.  Who wouldn’t be? After what happened when Ondoy passed by, it’s a bit hard to take it off one’s mind that it can happen again.  Sometimes I can’t help but feel depressed whenever I see pictures or videos of what happened to the victims of the calamity.  I just hope and pray that they would be able to recover soon and that no typhoon or heavy rains would befall us for the mean time.

3 jobs

I’m practically handling 3 jobs right now. I have to so that we could finance our wedding. I work as a research engineer at the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation Inc. Then every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, I tutor 2 students from Pisay (kind of a bit weird since tutorials during our time were a bit unheard of). Then I also have a couple of online paid postings. These are (more than) enough to keep me busy, considering all the wedding planning and preparations that my sweetie and I usually do during weekends.

paintball

September 26, 2009

Paintball is one of the games that I really want to try out. I guess it would be so fun to plan out your strategies as a team in order to win. Being trigger happy wouldn’t probably help much since you just might end up using up all your ammunition soon without really getting to hit anybody. Of course one must always keep in mind all the safety precautions when playing this game. Never forget to put on those Paintball goggles. It really is a must! There really is a recommended full gear to wear in order to protect one’s self when playing this game.

nap mat

August 14, 2009

It’s time to go back to school for some kids. Vacation is almost over. I’m sure parents are busy buying their children new stuff for school like stephen joseph quilted backpack or stephen joseph backpack, uniforms, pens and notebooks. Schools are also preparing for the opening of classes. Preschools are readying the kids nap mat once again. Some are repainting the classroom walls and playground facilities. It’s almost like everything’s new. I’m sure students highly appreciate this and would be more excited to go back to school. I personally, would always enjoy the start of the classes. It’s like a brand new start, with the hopes that the new school year would be great and that I would have better grades. Of course it’s not always about studies. One extra reason why one looks forward to going to school is because of classmates and friends. It’s nice seeing them again. Usually the first days are all about catching up and telling stories how each spent their vacation.

texas salsa

August 13, 2009

I love eating nachos. I love eating it with Texas Salsa and Jalapeno Olives or Jalapeno Relish. Sometimes I would do some home-made stuff when I don’t have time to buy or wouldn’t have much budget. I’d be happy with just fresh tomatoes, sliced in thin bits as well as onions. The bottled ones are really great as well. It’s still much cheaper to buy as compared to when you eat this in a restaurant. These snacks really go well with beer. It’s what we usually serve when we have parties at home. Everybody just loves digging in. It’s great with lots of cheese and ground beef too! Well, one just need to watch a bit how much he is eating since it’s just so tempting to just keep on digging in. One of our favorite restaurants serves unlimited nachos with salsa. We would end up asking for our 5th or 6th refill! I really enjoy eating there when we’re too lazy to prepare one at home.

not much progress

August 12, 2009

We haven’t done much progress this month when it comes to wedding planning. My sweetie and I are just too busy lately.  Well, I think everything is still on track though.  Hopefully we won’t get any crucial delays.  There are just a couple more suppliers we need to book by september.  We’re planning to book them during the wedding expo at the PICC.  Anyway, I just hope that we don’t get to miss out on any detail.

craving for a vacation

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a family vacation? It would be doubly fun if my family and my sweetie’s family can have a vacation together. Oh well. It’s just hard to fit in a vacation these days since everyone’s busy. I’m actually super busy these days since a deadline for one of our major deliverables are due pretty soon. I hope that after that we can hit the beach and just relax and rejuvenate ourselves! We deserve a big break! It would be nice to spend it at Riviera! I super like the place just by reading about it and browsing some pictures. If only it’s just near us, I would probably be there every week if I can. Taking a vacation there would surely take away all the stress!

finally home

My brother had to undergo CTscan since the doctor is suspecting that something wrong with his adrenal gland. He already underwent ultrasound and CTscan. It’s great that the doctor cleared him already. At last, after over a week of being confined at the hospital, he is now able to go home already. We’re just really thankful that he has a health card which took away a great chunk from the hospital bill that reached around 64k!
